SUMMARY:Celestial: A Giving Tuesday Campaign Honoring Amiya and Uplifting Sagacity Leaders
DESCRIPTION:✨ About Celestial\n\nCelestial is Simply Youth Institute’s 2025 Giving Tuesday campaign\, created in loving memory of Amiya Varble (she/they) — a recent graduate of our Sagacity Leadership Program for teen girls navigating foster care\, homelessness\, and mental health challenges. \nAmiya was a poet\, visionary\, and truth-teller who believed that young people don’t just need services — they need to be seen\, heard\, and supported. \nThis campaign is our promise to carry her light forward — and to invest in healing-centered spaces for girls like her. \nJoin us for Celestial: A Celebration of Amiya’s Light — a special community gathering to honor the voice\, vision\, and artistry of Amiya Varble (she/they)\, a Sagacity graduate whose work continues to inspire a movement. \nThis event will take place in the same space where Amiya released her book\, Her Voice Discovered. We will honor her legacy through: \n\nReadings of her poetry and prose\nYouth-led tributes and reflections\nAn altar and gallery space featuring her art and words\nCopies of Her Voice Discovered available to view and share\n\nThis is not a conclusion — it is a continuation of the light Amiya gave us. All are welcome to join in this space of remembrance\, resilience\, and rising. \nOpen to youth\, families\, community members\, and those committed to healing-centered spaces. \nBring your presence. Bring your prayers. Bring your promise to carry the light forward.

SUMMARY:THE SYI HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE 2020!
DESCRIPTION:PARTNERS / AFFILIATES: \nThe Los Angeles County Report on the Status of women conclude more women are living in poverty than any other demographic with young women predominantly of color under the age of 18 representing the highest numbers in groups of people likely to be subjected to the harshest realities within poverty stricken conditions. The negative effects for young women experiencing poverty conditions are immeasurable\, and serve as a deterrent for women to fully experience a state of peace with the fear\, anxiety\, and worry that follows when access to safety and security appears unattainable. Young women of color are more likely to fall victim to forms of violence\, and Black women have the highest rates in domestic violence and are more likely to stay in poverty. Though there is considerable upward mobility in the United States\, escaping poverty and violence is difficult\, and racial disadvantages mean that mobility out of poverty for Black women is far more difficult. \n The exempt purpose of Simply Youth Institute is to serve young women through educational activities with purpose to: \n1. to equip every young woman with free access to personal financial literacy. \n2. to promote peace in every young woman through emotional\, intellectual\, physical\, social\, and spiritual wellness education. \n3.  to create equitable opportunities for every young woman to mentor with women in successful leadership positions across the state. \nSimply Youth Institute’s exempt purpose serves as re-entry support for young women who are in the juvenile systems. Additionally\, providing above mentioned resources to local educational agencies whose served demographics are in the poverty threshold. We provide direct educational services to young women in vulnerable spaces to promote wellness and peace. \nEvery young woman deserves to have a financially healthy life and live in a state of peace.
