SAGACITY  Leadership  Summer Program (Ages 14-19)
SAGACITY, a California state approved pre-apprenticeship designed to be a rigorous  program where students learn to make wise decisions in their education, careers, and finance.  In the summer, young women (14-19) have an opportunity to explore local community colleges and universities. Additionally, they build self-esteem, healthy relationships, and self-expression through the arts. Industry leaders visit to share their expertise, offer mentorship, and provide opportunities. We provide donated laptops to scholars who are transitioning out of high school and into college. Upon completion of the program young leaders earn a leadership certificate, community-service hours, and a professional portfolio.  Dates: July 12th, 2023- July 15th, 2023. Registration opens: March 13th, 2023 (limited spaces available).

SYI inspires young people to achieve economic independence. The four financial literacy topics include: developing a budget, understanding taxes, building credit, and navigating higher education with no debt. The intended goal is to increase financial awareness and build confidence in overcoming economic hardships. Champions for Young People (ages 14-22)

Mentors also refeered to as “champions” support young people in identifying and crafting SMART goals in the areas of education, career, and finance. Additionally, mentors support social-emotional needs, building agency and confidence, problem-solving, and helping young people take action on their goals.If you are a caregiver/ student looking for mentorship please click here.

Roadmap to Financial Wellness (Ages 14-19)

Personalized workshops and collaborative events support young people with deepening their understanding on financial topics while also cultivating a safe space to develop friendships and professional relationships. Topics include education on personal finance, the workplace, and building healthy relationships. SYI collaborates directly with educators to bring personalized workshops in and out of the classroom with financial resources to promote a healthy environment for educators and their students. Community Service

Volunteer Program
SYI collaborates with and provides basic necessities for community organizations. Opportunity and experience are transformative ingredients that SYI uses to generate service projects for teens and adults.  We donate essential items such as hygiene kits, clothes, shoes, and coats to support the unhoused. From organizations that serve sex-trafficing victims, to those who provide transitional housing and basic necessities, we create a functioning pipeline through community engagements.
